A Kansas City Negro Protective League delegation reported the Jim Crow Bill faced weak prospects in the Missouri Legislature. They met Governor Gardner who pledged to protect Negro interests, and a widespread show of support emerged with numerous contributions from across the state. Dr Noel Bertram Ford died March 3, 1917 in Springfield at St Johns Hospital of pneumonia. born December 41, 1881, he served in the Twenty third Kansas Volunteers in Cuba.
