Pecan production rises with early harvest in county
Native pecans top 350000 pounds sold to Junction’s two dealers, Alex J. Hamer Co. and Schreiner Hodges Co. Hodges reports shipments exceeding 260000 pounds with another car in warehouse. Hamer expects county total to exceed half a million pounds as October last year saw only one car. Harvest pace suggests seven hundred thousand pounds or more if half the crop remains unpicked. South Llano Road to Gain Modern Park and River Route

Junction State Bank sold the Kirkpatrick Ranch on North Llano and Bois d Arc Creek to A F Winkle this week. The 2606 acre property is well watered and improved for ranching and near the Winkle residence, allowing both places to be managed by him and his sons. Frice is $10 per acre. Recent livestock sales include Martin & Co buying 700 mutton goats at 2.50, George Pepper selling 700 yearlings to Sutton County parties, and 700 ewes sold to Sterling Baker of Sutton County at 9 each. Ragland Bros sold 80 head of 1 2 and 3 year old steers at 80 to 45. Martin & Co shipped 3 cars of mutton sheep to Fort Worth, sheep weighing 87 pounds bringing 8c. The Eagle plant issued a 24 page yearbook for the Home Makers Club of Sonora, arranged by the Sutton County Home Demonstration Agent, praising club work and study plans. The week prior the London School Booster was printed. the four page monthly paper will be published by the Eagle each month. The Merry Heart Cook Book, about 125 pages, was printed by the Merry Heart Club of Rock Springs. praise came from Mrs. C L Hufstedler and Mrs. C Gardner Franks. Presiding Elder R E Draper will conduct quarterly conference at 2 pm Sunday, with Rev. Draper preaching at the evening service. Rev. Davis praised the year and church finances, noting no conference assessment will be needed. Public invited to all services.
