A Mr Burkett received the sincere thanks of residents in Ed wards Kimble and Mason Counties after delegations appeared before the State Highway Commission to request designation of the Mason Junction Rock Springs road as a State Highway.
Light showers this week and early Wednesday rain have fallen across Kimble County. With a strong ground cover and rapid grass growth, stockmen grow hopeful after years of uncertain conditions. Injunction rainfall: over an inch in Junction, about 2.5 inches north by Bear Creek. Bear Creek rose three feet Tuesday slowing traffic. Menard rail track limited to Cleo until late afternoon. All sections reporting good condition. minimal feeding expected unless a severe winter. As of Thursday afternoon another good rain was falling in town.
S S Bundy ranch home hosted an all day party with Mesdames Bundy Watson and Wolf as hostesses. About thirty guests enjoyed a turkey dinner, bridge, and prizes for high scores including a beaded table mat and face powder. Tea and cake followed at four. Miss Susie Beasley visiting San Antonio.
The Butt & Garrett Inc grocery feed and lumber firm celebrates eighteen months in Junction with a circular thanking customers and inviting new business. Owner Garrett active in town affairs, serving on the School Board and Chamber of Commerce. The Eagle praises their ads and job work, and notes a nearby new home for Van and wife Martin.
The State Highway Commission designated the Rocksprings to Mason road via Junction and London as a State Highway It will receive state aid for maintenance after the first of the year Delegation from Mason and Edwards County presented the case in Austin Judge Farmer and others credited for securing the designation Maintenance will be supervised under Sanford Roe, praised as a top maintenance supervisor in the state
The court suspended for a month as judge and three members attended Austin Highway Commission. A special session will be held next Monday October 19 to handle court business. Commissioner Fisher notes progress on the Junction London road with a Catapillar Tractor and grader in use awaiting bed settlement and post rain draggings. A Monarch expert mechanic inspected the tractor with Farmers and King for necessary adjustments.
Austin reports a two man contention for Texas governor in 1926 with Lynch Davidson of Houston and Jim Ferguson as leading candidates. Wiz ard Evans said the Klan will not participate, narrowing the field and making Fergusonism the central issue. Dan Moody faces barriers if he runs while serving as attorney general, as critics would accuse him of neglecting duties.
