In 1943 the AAA introduced pipe line distribution for livestock water to aid labor scarce producers. Pipe from wells or tanks will water livestock on poor range. minimum 1 inch pipe with a 1 4 inch mesh screen. Pipes should be buried below frost. expansion joints needed for long lines. Payment rates vary by pipe type and size, with detailed per foot amounts for new and used black pipe and galvanized iron pipe.

United War Chest Drive opens here on October 18. Milton Bierschwale, son of Mr and Mrs Floyd Bierschwale, volunteered in 1942 and was inducted March 12, 1943 at Fort Sam Houston into the Air Corps. He trained at Albuquerque and moved to Scott Field Illinois in August 1943 for radio school.

Tommy Carl Dobbs son of Mr and Mrs Ray Dobbs of Junction Texas died at home October 9 1943 after months of illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at 4 pm Schreiner Hodges Funeral Home with Rev Harral A Hall officiating. Interment in Junction Cemetery. Born Brady December 20 1938 he was loved by many friends survivors include parents and brother Charles pallbearers Roy Skaggs Jim Carpenter Dave Ferguson and J B Means. Floral offerings testified to his many friends.

A War Department letter sent to A W Browning states Dillard F. Stapp, then a private first class in Company C 359th Infantry, is to be issued the Purple Heart for wounds received September 26, 1918. The medal was secured after Browning urged Stapp to apply.
