Equalization board completes work after hearings
The County Commissioners as the Equalization Board finished their sessions Monday. They met with 114 residents who were asked to show cause for why assessments should not be changed. Some land valuations were raised where improvements had not previously been assessed.

County Board Lowers Valuation to Fair Tax Burden
The county board reduced total valuations with cattle down $2 per head and sheep $1 per head. Tax burden will be apportioned fairly, with state, county and precinct rates to be set next week and published in the Eagle. Comparison figures for this and prior years will also be provided.

Man Injured In Runaway As Wagon Team Breaks Away
M. J. Nethery drove a wagon when a team ran away last Wednesday. A young horse he was training and a broken bridle bit likely caused the incident. He suffered a badly bruised forehead and right cheek, a cut chin, and a broken nose. A nasal drain was placed for a few days and then removed. he is resting well and improving rapidly.

Senior Reception Honors Schreiner High Class
Schreiner High School seniors were honored at a Thursday reception hosted by Misses Modelle Jobes and Mattie Wright at the Jim Wright ranch home. The event featured a mock graduation program, decorate in gold and white, speeches by valedictorian Jobes and Salutatorian Merchant, jury judge Alton Miller, contests, prizes, and themed desserts.
