Pioneer Mail Carrier Recalls Early Days In Junction
H A Bud Walker recalls moving from Hill Country to the Plains 65 years ago. He carried Mason Junction mail 1886 1889 and Kerrville Junction routes, helped on Schreiner James River Ranch, and later settled in Lipscomb County after leaving Kimble in 1894. He described courthouse square and old rock store, welcomed memories of dances with local girls, and noted the Kerrville route was hard on horses.

In the 21st district poll, vast majority oppose repealing Taft Hartley and civil rights, favor keeping taxes, and support a strong defense. Voters split on public housing, price controls, and European aid with wide margins favoring preparedness and tide lands retention.
