The Roosevelt Presbyterian Church held a Sunday session where Rev. John E. Pickering of Alpine preached and the community unanimously approved the second annual camp meeting at the Joe M. Gardner ranch from June 7 to 12. Rev. Thomas D. Murphy named presiding officer and will form committees with lay members from Roosevelt to organize a cooperative program with Baptist, Christ E, Methodist and Presbyterian speakers.

Walter Leamons Named W O W National Delegate
Walter W. Leamons, local Wow consul commander and district delegate, was elected national delegate for the next two years at the 24th biennial WOW state convention in Laredo. He was among 13 national delegates chosen from 500 state delegates.events included a memorial service, lectures by national officers, a Friday business session, and an initiation ceremony. Junction won Brady Relays with 7 points and Bobby Joe Ragsdale named outstanding track man. He set a record in the 220 yard low hurdles at 23.4 seconds, won the 880 yard run, placed second in the 220 yard dash, fourth in the broad jump, and helped shuttle hurdle and mile relay teams to podiums. Brady was high point school among 11 teams. South San Antonio finished third.

School Trustee Election Set for April 2
Edgar McLendon will preside over the trustee election to be held Saturday, April 2, in the courthouse by the Junction Independent School District. Two trustees will be named to succeed the two trustees who drew one year terms after the annexation of the common school districts. Aubrey Hill and H. C. Fire damages Ellene Robinson rental house
The Junction Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a fire Monday night causing an estimated 500 dollars of damage to the furnishings and interior of the rental house owned by Miss Ellene Robinson. Mr and Mrs W Isaacks tenants reported the blaze upon returning from supper. A lighted cigarette is suspected to have started the fire which smoldered until the door was opened. Insurance covered the house and contents. an adjuster was planned for Wednesday. R D Borden helped prevent further damage by arriving at the scene early. Spectators hindered the firemen, prompting a call for better public caution.

Mrs. Annie Wood Laid To Rest In Eden Churchyard
Funeral services for 73 year old Mrs. Annie Wood of Eden were held at Eden Baptist Church with burial in Eden cemetery. Died Saturday morning after heart attack following a two year stroke illness. Resided in Concho County 42 years born August 15 1879 married Marcus Wood in 1895 who died in 1911. Survivors include three daughters two sons and several grandchildren including Billy Joe McGuffin and Mack Earl McGuffin. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wood and daughters Dickye and Leona.
