Two Drownings in River Tragedy After Ice Plant Spill
Mrs Amon Wallace and Leo Richard Andrews, ages 26 and 6, drowned Monday afternoon in a river south of the ice plant after a boy slipped into deeper water. Bystanders searched for about half an hour. Wayne Waits found the woman’s body and Robert Waits recovered the child. Mrs Wallace, nee Effie Colier, tinggal in the county. funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Baptist Church.

Car Accident Near Cleo Injures Three Girls
A Dodge belonging to Lon Baugh turned over on the road near Cleo last Sunday after a wheel came off. Lon Baugh’s two daughters and a daughter of Dave Goben were in the car at moderate speed. prompt medical care followed and only a broken collar bone was reported among the injuries.

Birthday party for Patricia Patterson marks third year
On Monday afternoon June 21 Mrs H O Patterson honored her daughter Patricia with a birthday party. Patricia wore a net and blue silk dress with a blue hat as guests arrived. The group sang and the candles were lit. Pink ice cream and cake were served and each child received a bright colored balloon as a parting gift.

Rocksprings defeated Junction 83 to 80 to secure the Angora Record Association headquarters at a Unit ed States Camp Wood meeting. Rainfall floods reach Dickson Ranch. goats lost near Segovia
A heavy rainfall event around Segovia caused Dickson Ranch creek to swell to about twenty feet. About 100 goats were lost in the high water, with earlier reports placing losses around 300 but later updated to 100 found by noon Thursday. Rain was uneven, with heavy showers in Telegraph and 700 Springs areas while Kerrville and several other towns saw little to no rain.

Rehearing Granted in Turman Case Reversal Ordered
Judge Stevenson received a telegram from the Court of Criminal Appeals clerk informing that the Turman case from this county has been granted a rehearing and the trial court’s judgment reversed. The Fleming case motion for rehearing by the state was denied. Turman likely to be scheduled next term here, Fleming to be tried at Llano.
