J A Williams Dies Suddenly in Ballinger
J A Williams retired wholesale operator and longtime Ballinger resident died suddenly Saturday afternoon June 12 of a heart attack. He was serving as manager of a local oil company. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church with Rev Clarence Morton presiding. He was an active deacon for 22 years and is survived by his widow, son Oscar Williams, brother Robert Williams, and grandson Pat Williams.

Lt Ted A Weil in Pantelleria Raid Airlifted Veteran
Lt Ted A Weil former Junction resident served as bombardier on a B 26 during Allied raids on Pantelleria. He fought off three ME 109s amid heavy flak, saw three bombs land on target, and earned praise as the first married cadet to enlist at Randolph Field. Weil entered service December 31 1941. his wife is Rosabelle McDonald.
