Mrs Galdonik Finishes Degree After Camp Barkeley Visit

The Bear and Copperas Creek Game Management Association sponsors a Summer Field Meet at the J D Cowsert ranch on Friday afternoon June 11. Members bringing rifles and ammunition for target shooting demonstrations will join experts Hardy Farmer N K Farmer Clay Holland and J D Cowsert for rifle displays and a 730 PM barbecue. WAAC Recruiting Force Visits Junction

Morales Enlists in U S Air Corps and Advances
Manuel Morales son of Mr and Mrs Milton Morales of Ft Mc Kavett enlisted in September 1940. He served at Brooks Field San Antonio and Ellington Field before moving to Blackland Field Waco where he became staff sergeant. He graduated from a San Antonio high school and belongs to Kimble county's pioneer Morales family.

Brown King Enlisted in U S Army Engineering Corps
Corporal Brown King was inducted into the U S Army Engineering Corps on August 12, 1942, at Camp Wolters Mineral Wells. After initial training he went to Camp Belvoir Virginia for further instruction and spent several weeks at Lexington University Kentucky.

Boy Scout Drive For Funds For Year Successful
Heavy rains did not dampen efforts for the Boy Scout drive held last Saturday morning. Scout Mothers provided breakfast at the Methodist Church annex as committees solicited funds for Scout activities. Reports show about $600 in cash raised and pledges expected to bring total near $1,000, with gratitude voiced to Junction and Kimble county residents.

Red Cross Seeks Sewing Room Volunteers in County
Red Cross sewing room at the courthouse appeals to women to volunteer Thursdays and Fridays to make items for wounded soldiers and sailors.
