San Antonio Livestock Show Opens With Parade and Rodeo
The 7th annual San Antonio Livestock Exposition and Rodeo begins Friday February 10 with a Western parade through downtown led by Rex Allen and including 400 horses 35 floats and 40 bands. Rex Allen will star in all 15 performances of the Everett Colburn Worlds Championship Rodeo. E W Bickett reports a strong show with about 4000 head of livestock entered and total premiums and prizes of 86000. Opening day is Rio Grande Valley Day with Rural Youth Day and Press and Radio Day set for the weekend.

Mrs McAngus Buried Here After El Paso Death
Funeral services for Mrs. W E McAngus 42 of El Paso were held February 2 at the Methodist Church with Rev Warren Ellis and Rev Eugene Strickland. Burial followed in Junction cemetery. She taught in Edwards Sutton and Kimble counties before moving to El Paso in 1943 and was named Teacher of The Year there. She was married to W E McAngus in San Angelo in 1935. She was a Delta Kappa Gamma member and NEA Life member. She survived by her husband and parents.

Pat Hardesty Rites Held Here Wednesday
Funeral services for Patricia Ann Hardesty 19 who died from injuries in a car wreck near Abilene were held at College Street Church of Christ with Walter W. Leamons officiating. Burial followed in London Cemetery. Hardesty daughter of Mr and Mrs L C Hardesty of Ozona formerly Kimble was born Sept 24 1936 in Junction. She was a 1955 Ozona High School graduate and had attended a business college in Abilene. She survived by her parents three brothers Van Chandler of Crane Jerrell of Austin and a grandmother Mrs R E Chandler of London. Pallbearers included Rusky Halvdher Charles Goodman Larry Goodman Willis D Minnick Jody Minnick and Hugh Russell.

Mrs. Helen Cunningham purchased the first 1956 license plates on February 1 as 3,040 plates went on sale by the sheriff-assessor-collector's office.
