Probation Revocation Hearing Set in Kerr County District Court
A motion by Second 38th District Attorney Marvin Blackburn Jr to revoke Roy Dean McCulloughs probation and sentence him to five years in the penitentiary is slated for 10 a.m. today. McCullough was arrested January 14 1956 for theft and held on $1000 bond in Kimble County jail. burglary and theft of pecans since then are cited in the action. Max Doran died in Austin about 2 30 am Sunday from a heart attack relatives in Menard County were notified. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm from an Austin funeral home chapel with burial in Fiskville Cemetery. A native of Menard County he lived in West Texas before moving to Austin ten years ago. He was 54. Survivors include his wife two sons Billy Max and Bobby Gene and one grandson all of Austin four sisters Mrs Al Rogers of Junction Mrs Clarence Self of Sonora Mrs Estle Otte of San Angelo and Mrs Ada Posey of Eldorado two brothers Lewis of Sonora and Bill of San Angelo and in Junction two nieces Mrs Ray Low and Mrs Jimmy Hughes. Rogers Low and Hughes returned Monday evening after funeral services.

Council Hears Engineer On Status Of Gas Installation
At the Monday night City Council meeting engineer E R Barnard reported progress on the natural gas system. About 400 feet remain in the block opposite the post office with 275 service connections and 535 premises. Barnard sought more time for Little Mexico work but action paused after Mansfield urged completing the function system first. Mayor Wright sought a dam across the South Llano to raise well water. Fire equipment funds were approved, with the department to cut school fund requests accordingly. Tax collections stood at 86 percent of last year.
