Tragedy at Ingram Leaves Daughter Wounded
Henry Smith guards his mentally ill wife at Kerrville county jail after she shot his 19 year old daughter at their Ingram home last Saturday morning. The daughter, wounded through the back and left side, is recovering at Secor Hospital. Mrs Smith fled to the woods but surrendered after her husband arrived under her rifle point. the incident occurred about 1 o clock.

Former Episcopal Minister Rev. Richard Mercer Dies
Rev. Richard Mercer, former pastor of the Episcopal Church at here, Sonora, McKavitt, and Menard, died in an Austin hospital early Monday. His body was moved to Menard for burial that afternoon. Mercer, born in England, served as a minister over 40 years, with 15 in Utah and 25 in nearby counties. He traveled to Sonora Menard and Junction by buggy for about 18 years. He retired to the San Antonio Episcopal home for aged ministers about a year ago and was recently moved to an Austin hospital. He left no immediate relatives. mourners from here attended the Menard funeral. Also noted is Rev Oren C. Reid conducting a revival at Gentry. Reid, former cashier of the First National Bank, studied at Howard-Payne College.
