Father of Local Druggist Dies in San Antonio
Eli C. Hawkins, father of John M. Hawkins of Junction, died at his home in San Antonio last Saturday and was buried in Mission Burial Park. Funeral services were led by Rev. H. M. Smith. Born near Prairie Lea, Texas, about seventy years ago, he spent thirty years in San Antonio and earlier in Kerrville. Survived by wife, two sons, six daughters. John M. Hawkins and wife attended the funeral. Also notes only four states now lack a gas tax: New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Illinois.
