Lt Warren Roberts reports sea service, James Meredith trains at Camp Wolters, and Lt Beddingfield is killed in a B 26 crash near Dodge City Kansas with four others.

At a board meeting, Tomas Castro, Merced Ramirez, Apolino Menchaca, Joe Diminguez Jr, A J Ivy Jr, King Leggett, Martin Willis III, Sloan Davis, Richard McComb, and A J Ivy Jr were reclassified, Ivy Jr has enlisted, and Mrs. Speck visits Level land sister for a week.

Ninety seven Angora bucks sold at Rocksprings during the 23rd annual Texas Angora Goat Raisers Association sale averaging $78.55 per head. G A Bonner's C type buck led at $300, bought by Shannon Morris of Pelly Texas. In show events, F M Bierschwabe won first in C type billy two years and over, while Skaggs took second in B type yearling billies and the Ritchie Special on yearling billies. Skaggs consigned 10 billies bringing $970 total averaging $97.00 each. Bierschwale sold a billy for $100. Prices reflect a healthy industry despite recent slaughter and high mohair contracting. In Rocksprings the officers were reelected: Marvin Skaggs president, C F Briggs 1st vice president, H R Sites 2nd vice president, J R Stewart secretary-treasurer, Tom Martin attorney. Missionary Dr Buford Nichols to Speak in Junction Aug 19
Dr Buford L Nichols former China missionary will speak at Junction Methodist Church on Thursday evening August 19. Sponsored by pastors from Presbyterian Methodist Church of Christ and Baptist churches the talk aims to reach all churchgoers in Junction and Kimble County. Nichols served five years in China under the Baptist Mission Board and plans to resume missionary work soon.

Flight Chief Arch Allison Attends Annual Billy Sale
Will Attend Sale flight chief Arch Allison of Blythe California timed his furlough this summer to be here for the 7th Annual Billy Sale this week. He joined the air corps at Kelly Field November 4 1940 and graduated as an airplane mechanic February 1 1942 at Boeing School of Aeronautics Oakland. He married Vivian Kirkpatrick in March 1942 and later served as an aircraft engine instructor at Perry Institute Yakima before becoming Flight Chief Blythe. His father handles his goats interests while in service and he is present to oversee the billies.

Improvement on Street Intersections Around Junction
The paving extension on 290 through Junction to cross streets is praised by citizens. Commissioner C E Reid says it will aid cross street upkeep entering the highway. Hubert Slim Fields and highway crew receive congratulations for the work. Mr Fields is Kimble County State highways section foreman, succeeding the late R C Horton. Mr and Mrs Jim Carpenter and children attended Cow Boy Revival near Ingram Sunday.

Boy Scout Camporee Closes With Swim Meet
Boy Scouts from adjoining counties gathered in Junction for a camporee underway with about 100 scouts and 20 leaders. Leaders include Powell Nobles Gardner Hubbell Holekamp and Galbraith. Schedule lists 1:00 camporee projects 2:00 swim meet 4:00 awards retreat and closing with a water carnival featuring events such as rapid disrobing 25 yd free style dives and relay races.
