Frank Jones of Marfa paid 450 for a Delaine yearling ram bred by Fred Wittenburg of Lometa. Six rams brought Jones 1295, while the day’s 36 ram average hit 130.40 a record for Texas. Other top buyers included Russell Callan and R A Bevans with multiple rams. Continued on page six.

Death Claims David M Stewart After Long Illness
David M. Stewart died at his ranch home near London on July 25 after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Community Hall in London with Rev. Louis Pear and Rev. Lewis L. Wilkins officiating. interment followed in London Cemetery. Pallbearers included L. W. Grobe, Dayton McCollum, Taylor Walton, Hugo Leifeste, French Cummins and Ernest Summers. Stewart, a Texas native, was married to Belle M. Latta in 1883 and leaves six children, 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters, and one brother. He was a Church of Christ member and respected pioneer in Kimble County. Out-of-town relatives at the funeral included Frankie Sweeten, B.J. Stewart, Callie Baze, Maurice Stewart, and W. D. and Lomagene Stewart.
