Johnston County adopts 376.3M budget with raises and new posts
County commissioners approve a 376.3 million spending plan for Johnston County including 104.8 million for school operations and 3.5 million for capital outlay. The tax rate is 67 cents per 100 valuation plus a 14 cent fire service tax. New county jobs total 57 across departments with a 3 percent across the board raise and merit increases possible. Elected officials receive higher salaries and nonprofits receive targeted funding such as 325000 Harbor Inc and 275000 QuickRide.
