Summer Home Classes Open at Jefferson High School

Summer homemaking classes began at Jefferson High School on Thursday June with a flower arrangement and corsage demonstration by Mrs Wilkins and Mrs Meisenheimer of a local floral shop. Afterward the group went to Daingerfield State Park for a picnic and swim with numerous participants and Sue Smith of Nacogdoches joining. The next meeting slated for Thursday June 16 will feature demonstrations by the Singer Sewing Machine Co of Marshall.

Post Office payroll set to rise in Jefferson

Jefferson Post Office will see about 250 dollars more per month after a new postal pay law, passed last Friday. Postmaster Halbert McQuinn says all Jefferson postal employees will share the increase, averaging roughly 20 dollars more per month each.

The Marion-Cass Soil Conservation District schedules the annual Conservation Queen contest for July 29 at the Lin den football stadium. High school girls from Marion or Cass County may enter by July 1, 1955, with sponsorship, a photo, and a $3 fee for publicity. Queen wins $100 Savings Bond. 1930 Class of JLHS Holds Successful Reunion Here

Jefferson High School’s 1930 senior class held a Saturday reunion at Mrs. Louis King’s home. Attendees enjoyed greeting, dinner at Jefferson Fish Camp with ivy decor, and memory books and photos.
