Bright Skies for Fair Opening at Jasper
A rainy spell slowed some exhibitors but opening day at the Jasper fair drew a good crowd. Entries stayed strong though many country exhibitors were late with stock and displays. Judging in many divisions was postponed, while Cruick Tent Herefords led with Gulick’s return from state fairs. Armstiedle showcased Calloways from a Royal Stock Show win, with Jerseys and Med Polled also present. Farm products and corn dominated the early displays. grain, potatoes, pumpkins, squash drew attention. Poultry, hogs, sheep, and art and domestic science sections filled, while weather improved and judged by M. D. Wool.

Mayor Tries Hand as Police Judge
A Tuesday night disturbance at a local restaurant led City Marshal Tabler and bystanders to arrest four people. Two women and one man were fined $2.50 and costs after Mayor Hayslett sat as judge in the absence of Police Judge Masters.

Mr and Mrs J Beall of Jasper Missouri arrived Monday for a visit with Mr Ball's brother and his wife. The families have not been together for 22 years and will continue their reunion next week at the Fair. Mr Beall is a real estate operator in Jasper.
City Ordinance 1 Regulates Bowling Alleys and Similar Venues
Ordinance No g1 recently passed by the City Council of Jasper licenses bowling alleys ten pin alleys ball alleys billbird tables and pool tables within the city. It prescribes applicant qualifications and the manner of obtaining and granting such licenses and states licenses shall not be granted except upon petition.

Organist Mrs Chrnee Wents. flowers led by several local girls. bearers listed. Nora Pharis born March 17 1867 in Macon County TI married J Ko Carr January 1880. They had two sons Harold and Carl. Former residents moved from Decatur to Jasper then later to this community. Mrs Carr active in church and charity, leaves husband, sons, father T H Pharis of Decatur, sisters and brothers. The family thanks friends for sympathy.
