Five girls formed the class and gave a polished program at the M. E. Church with Mrs Ollie Roberts leading the class march. Rev J W Medearis, pastor of Samar Baptist Church, delivered the address on Courage as an Element of Success to a large attentive audience. He once lived in Jasper and remains popular with local people.

Cottey Students to Give Concert Here in Jasper
Miss Mildred Slet Hore, Miss Lida Drake and Mr. Hubert Fowler, Cottey College students, will present a Jasper concert Friday evening June 13. Miss McLemore, a noted reader, accompanies with high standing in college circles. Fowler, a baritone, has been in demand in Nevada. Drake, pianist and contralto, has appeared widely in Cottey and other events. The group plans more Missouri concerts after school ends. details to follow.

Dedication of Jasper Masonic Hall Opens Fraternal Home
The Jasper Lodge ins A F and A M and the Jasper Eastern Star Chapter dedicated their new lodge hall Friday night in the Schoolcraft building with many Jasper Masons and about 50 visitors from Lamar Golden City and Carthage. Speakers included Robert Elliott of Carthage and Rev Sam G Keys of Jasper. Eastern Star ladies served lunch as the hall, recently papered and painted, awaits furnishing and occupancy by the fraternal orders.

Miss Jessie Weed traveled from Jasper to Independence where she married A B Riggs yesterday. Riggs, formerly of this town, runs a horse business in Independence. The couple will reside there, and Miss Weed leaves behind her long service with sister Mrs C Thompson at the St James Hotel and will be missed by patrons and friends.

Memorial Hall Meeting Forms Executive Committee
