Car Turns Over on Family Near Salem
Wiley Courtney and family riding in a new Ford from Salem toward Oklahoma when a tire burst on a country road beyond Baxter Springs. The car skidded and rolled over. Mr Courtney escaped with a sprained shoulder. His mother suffered a broken arm a crushed hand and facial injuries. One daughter had a broken nose and facial injuries plus a hip. The other daughter and Arthur had bruises and scratches. They received first aid then went home to Salem to recover.
