Webb Brothers Mercantile promotes Jasper Southwest celebration with Pingree shoes Walk Over gents shoes Henney buggies 38 springs 23 inch back seat 15 cushion springs and Henry fasteners. Also advertises twine and Whip erwill Cowpeas at $3 a bushel.
Jasper prepares a record Fourth of July with a flower parade and elaborate floats funded to eclipse past efforts. bicycle girls will ride decorated bikes for prizes. calithumpians offer contests with cash awards. a baby show, a Nashville baseball exhibition, and an address by Edwin L. Moore are planned. The Jasper Band will play, fireworks will be extensive, and general festivities spread across the day with many prizes and activities.
Peamaster Wade received notice last Thursday that the new pay scale for nurse route carriers will take effect July 1. Local carriers rejoice as rural free delivery has boosted salaries by about fifty percent since its inception. Sam's jokes fade as workers feel the gain.
All stores except confectionery soda fountains and similar outlets will close at 9 a.m. on the Fourth. The note lists limited hours for holiday observance and cautions patrons to plan ahead.
The Golden City Reunion Association invites former residents to Wyatt Park Golden City Missouri for July 24 25 and 26 1907. Attendees will enjoy police promotion day and night entertaining grounds and famed hospitality. Concessions arranged by John A Griessel Secretary.
Relatives gathered Sunday morning to honor Geo Lemasters on his 36th birthday with a surprise party at his home. Attendees included Isaac and many Lemasters families, Schooler relatives, Elliott and Patterson households, Will Rice, Chas Hayzlett, Chas Whitsell, and C. Jones of Indiana.
Sunday evening program at the Christian church drew an attentive audience as children performed for the event titled Children’s Day. The audience enjoyed the varied acts and the organized program, while the Tolks family supported through participation.

Beginning at midnight last Tuesday the two cent railroad fare is in effect in Missouri. Railroads agreed with Attorney General Hadley on a three months trial pending a Supreme Court hearing to test constitutionality. For now travelers can ride at a cheaper rate.

Contestants include Regina Gresham Ethel Masters Bessie Noland Mary Curtis Sarah Dell Redmood Program features piano solos by Miss Phillips Miss Bayne Mrs Magers vocal solos by Miss Frick Roy Prall Angelica Tompkins Mr De Smythe Mr Bluffio and Mrs De Smythe operetta The Fortune Teller and a presentation of medals followed by benediction.
John Hinamon of Jasper reported the death of his daughter Mrs. Julian J. Pike in Colorado last Monday. She had moved there two years earlier for health reasons but succumbed to pulmonary disease. The burial took place in Carthage following the deceased's prior wish.
