The Bar Docket for the June term of the Jasper County Circuit Court convened at Carthage on the first Monday in June listing eighty divorce cases for this term.
A small fire reported last Thursday on the street damaged the home of Isaac Herring and his wife, who live northwest of Joplin. Bert Webb, insurer of the house, inspected the farm and found the damage to be slight.
A 16 year old son of Mr Tilly living half a mile south of Boston broke his collar bone last Friday while tending horses in the barn. The horse crowded him against the manger and Dr Schooler reduced the fracture.
Miss Emma Knell, longtime booster of the Jasper County Fair in southwest Missouri, visited Jasper last Thursday and announced the appointment of E. J. Lauderbaugh as superintendent of the horse department for the fair this year. Star Brand Shoes Are Better.
A Jasper merchant recounted a tale on Andy Gresham’s program. He said Mr Stark, who lives south of town, hired a man to plant corn. The worker double rowed the corn, and when Stark expressed surprise, the man said that Andrew Gresham plants his corn that way and he is a good farmer. Stark then discontinued the services.
Guy Webb of Jasper is the regular shortstop for the Warrensburg Normal baseball team pictured in the Kansas City Journal last Monday. Warrensburg Normal won three championship college teams this year in football basketball and baseball.
L. V. Nunnelly plans an enclosure on the vacant lot east of Conrad's and will install a moving picture machine this week. He expects to start shows there next Saturday night.
A spring sighting of unruly young colts on Jasper streets signals a weak field for the Jasper City Fair colt show this fall, observers say. Local officials anticipate limited competition and reduced interest from breeders this season.
Relayed from Carterville, Thos Seal nneve remains confined to bed as illness worsens. His daughters Mrs. Nunoelly and Mrs. Fred Cather were summoned Saturday, but his condition deteriorates with efforts to rally fading.
D J Mullen from Tola Arkansas and wife and Banas drove through thin sections to Lawrence Treats four miles north where they camped. They bought Trout’s farm and crops, citing travel weariness and health concerns. Miss May Watson once a clerk at Webb Bros. store wed F. W. Williams of Hugoton Kansas on Saturday at Carthage. Williams, formerly near Nashville in this county, is now a lumber merchant in Hugoton.
Martin B. Roberts, once an Jasper boy, is visiting relatives and old friends in Jasper. Now a contracting builder based in Richmond California near San Francisco, he has spent about three years in the west. Also, Tom Hardaway and family visited friends at A'ba and Carthage last week.
The Christian church ladies will host ice cream and sake on Saturday evening, June 7, in the Webb Bros. building, with everyone invited. Also reported this week are births: Dr. Knottto Harris Coleman and wife welcomed a girl eight miles northwest, born Friday the 30th ultimo. A Washington dispatch notes buffalo nickels are minted and new ones will be issued with the five cents show.
Miss Parmelia Mahan a W C T A woman of state and national reputation died of heart disease last Tuesday. She lived in Carthage and was well known in Jasper. In Chicago she had given addresses here at different times.

Carlotta Pontiac, celebrated Holstein at University of Missouri College of Agriculture, yielded 22. cec pounds of milk last year and five Bay pounds of butter, the leading cow since Josephine. She now produces about ten gallons daily and will headstand as a major exhibit during commencement week at the County Fair. Also noted is The Clansman play touring Jasper on June 11, Hendrick’s opera house repairs, and changes to the Chandler store partition with new cement piers, plus the First National Bank front repainted in olive green with dark trim.

Alice Templin went to Jacob Indiana to spend time with sister Ed Davis. other residents like Mrs FWHM, Mrs Deuiphn, and Judge Cheliye shared extended family visits in Jasper, Carthage, and Carthe. Several residents, including Basil McClint, William and families, traveled or hosted gatherings across Carthe, Carthage, and nearby areas.
