J B Nealy and his wife depart tonight bound for Birmingham Alabama to establish residence. The News announces a price change to 31 50 annually after March 1 with renewals and pew subscriptions received before that date credited at the old rate of 1.00 per year.
The Cline family increased the paper's readership by ordering delivery to Sigel Cline in Union Oregon. Ten Cline family members now subscribe, surpassing the Greshams who previously led. Patterson and Wood families each hold five subscriptions, tying for next.

Oren Lattimer aged 44 years 7 months 7 days died at the sanitarium in Nevada Saturday February and was buried in Jasper Alnsonic Cemetery Monday February 5. The funeral was held at the Lattimer home with Rev. J. W. Moore of the Jasper M. E. Church delivering the sermon. He leaves his father A. L. Lattimer and one brother and one sister. He had been in poor health a year or two. A Navy veteran of three years and a well traveled man, he was a member of Jasper Lodge 488 I.O.O.F.

The Missouri Pacific depot has been wired and fixtures installed for electric lights, but connections to the main line on Grand Avenue remain unmade. Public demand for depot lighting is high, and hopes run that the work will be completed soon.
