The Upworth League of the M E Church plans a fan entertainment on Friday February 16 with a good reader in the program. The News will cost 1.60 a year after March 1 and renewals and new subscriptions received before the change will be credited at the old rate of 31 004 year.
Local public sales listed for February include W A Gist at the Shoepman place two miles south of Jasper with 5 Jersey cows 3 horses and household goods. Frank Thacker sale located 244 miles east and north of Jasper features 4 cattle 10 horses and mules hogs sheep and implements. J C Stalter in north Jasper lists 26 registered Jersey cattle pure bred Poland China hogs horses feed and implements. Auctioneers C F Rex Hex and A W Redford.
Mrs J P Leiss was hostess at a cheerful dinner party last Saturday honoring visiting former Jasper ladies. Guests included Mrs Joe Veach of Cheyenne Wyoming Mrs C L Leiss of Waterloo Iowa Mrs Luther Hardaway of Marcelline Missouri Mrs C L Spaid of Joplin and Mrs H F Pitts of Jasper.
