Mrs Kate Metz of Cobden says Cardus tonic helped her aged mother who suffered cramping spells and severe headaches. After using four bottles, the mother is stronger, eats better, and headaches have diminished markedly. The letter urges publication to inform other women of the tonic's benefits.
In court the judge recalls a passenger misreading a ban dit crawling on a car. The passenger explains he assumed it was a shortcut device for entering an upper berth, prompting the judge to comment on the misinterpretation.
The community faced a cooler northwest wind and persistent dry wells since last June. Rob Pope was elected director at the school meeting. Several residents, including Pfander and Moser families, visited relatives and traveled for errands in Commerce Ohio and Arkansas. An egg hunt at school brought joy to students and teachers.

Michigan Holstein breeders celebrate Vandermeere Belle Hengerveld 193784 as the world’s junior 4-year-old butter cow. She produced 570 lbs of milk and 42.61 lbs of butter in a seven day test, surpassing longtime champion Mabel Segis Korndyke by 29 lbs of butter. Bred by James Wilder of Bay City, she is owned by K. E. Pelletier of Pontiac, signaling strong future prospects for the Black and White dairy line.

Miss Kona Yates of Blue and Bethel attended after a sister in law’s death in Minden. Several families visited and hosted gatherings including Harris Coleman with John Hefley, Claude Budd and Emma Yates returning from Jasper, and Mr Taylor’s gathering with rock music. Egg roast at Lucas’s with many young people and several visits among the community.
Sunday visits fill the Lebanon area as families and friends gather at homes and farms. Many names appear in gatherings at J W Phillips Claud McConnell and other local households with church services planned for Lebanon including a Strong sermon and eye roast at Jess Miller's Saturday night.
Miss Luna Dix and Mrs Chas Wescott with two children visited Mrs N M Dix on Monday afternoon. Martha and Margaret Ball stayed with relatives in Webb City. Ernest Henderson bought a drill rig to prospect on his father's farm. Miss Mabel Snyder visited Mrs Jacobs on Saturday. The funeral of Isaac Lauderbaugh was held last Friday morning.
A crowded Preston Church service followed by burial at Brethren Cemetery. Local residents and visitors share meals and call on friends across Webb City Carthage Alba and nearby farms. Several social calls, school notices and plans for a Nose Bank Schoolhouse pie supper on Friday April 20 are recorded along with ongoing family visits and travel to Oklahoma.
