El Paso Camps Report Progress at Camp No II
At El Paso Camp No II twelve houses mostly completed include five five-room and seven six-room units. Twenty one five-room houses remain under construction along with a 420-foot water well and a 5000-gallon tank standing 90 feet tall. Nine new houses finished at Camp No I with 8800 horsepower compressor units being installed to boost gas on the California line. A right of way from Keystone field to Jal is in progress.

Two Oil Wells Completed on Jerald Place
The Blount and Phillips and the Irving and Culberson companies completed two new oil wells for Humble Oil Co. on the Jerald place, now owned by S. R. Cooper west of Bills Bar. The wells bring total wells on the property to eight in under a half section. Cooper arranged for a surface tank built by Blount and Phillips to provide water for cattle in upcoming hot, dry summers.

Building details include three plate glass display windows red brick exterior asbestos interior and large stock room with office. He hopes the street will fill with similar structures.

Brady urges Rotarians to invest in youth in small towns

Funeral Services For Mrs Buffington In Jal
Funeral services for Mrs George T Buffington were held at the Church of Christ in Jal at 10 a m on Friday September 27 conducted by Minister Woody Holden assisted by local pastors John Fulmer and W R Allen. Born Lucy Ellen Hicks in 1861 in Clark County Alabama she married George T Buffington in 1887 in Shubuta Mississippi. The couple settled near Jal New Mexico in 1915 and she is survived by five sons and three daughters, one son Tillman having died last year, plus a sister, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At the Jal Methodist Church the Fourth Quarterly Conference led by Dr. M. L. Sims voted unanimously to request the return of Rev. Miller H. Stroup as pastor for another year. The year saw over 60 new members, $1400 spent on improvements, and a salary raise to $8000 plus parsonage starting October 1.
