Lon McNeil Recovers After Madera Gas Explosion
Lon McNeil, badly burned in a October 9 explosion at the Madera Knight Water Company works, is recovering in hospital. He sat up, may be dismissed soon, after starting a fire by striking a match in a dark doghouse filled with gas from a slipped stove hose. He fled the flames, jumped into a water tank, and drove four miles to a doctor.

Danner Tangles With T and P Truck on Highway
A car driven by W D Bill Dan ner foreman of the Woolworth ranch collided with a T P truck on the highway north of Jal Tuesday evening. Cause of the accident was unknown. No one was injured but the Danner car sustained considerable damage.

Texaco worker badly burned in gasoline explosion
Charley Webster an employee at the Texaco Service Station on the Highway was badly burned Saturday when attempting to start a fire with gasoline. He dumped gasoline into a stove igniting live coals, his trousers catching fire. He suffered burns from the waist down and on his right hand, was treated at the Community Hospital, and is reported to be improving.

Eunice Boy Burned In Oil Tar Fire
Jack Kerley twenty was burned in an oil and tar fire at Eunice while unloading highway surfacing material from a tank car. He was treated at Hobbs General Hospital with burns described as not serious. The blaze damaged a state highway tank truck and other equipment on a Eunice railroad siding. The fire started about 8 am and was extinguished by the Eunice volunteer fire department.
