Principal Jimmie Gammill will pursue a PhD in Berkley California. Many teachers intend to attend colleges or universities across the region including Texas Tech Lub bock, North Texas State Teachers College Denton, and Silver City Late Teachers College. Several will work locally during summer while others plan residences in California Oklahoma or Colorado.

Col. D. C. Pearson delivered the commencement address to twenty three seniors in the high school auditorium on a Wednesday evening. Rev. J. W. Hollis offered the invocation, the assembly sang America, Hudie C. Bagley gave the salutatory, and Roy Carlton Jeter was valedictorian with an interesting address.

Geneva Hall visits Tulsa grandparents for a two week vacation.

Baccalaureate Service Held Sunday Morning
A high school auditorium service Sunday morning featured Rev. J. W. Hollis reading scripture and Rev. G. L. Keever delivering the address. The girls sextette performed and all Jal residents attended, expressing appreciation for the seniors. Charles Hammner offered the benediction.

McAllister Family to Move From Jal to Arkansas Ranch
H H McAllister and his wife plan to relocate from Jal to a ranch in Clarksville Arkansas within a month. He recently returned from Arkansas purchase and has begun stocking cattle. McAllister recently retired as Jal mayor, and his departure is seen as a significant loss to the town.

Juvenile Officer Visits Local Boys on conduct talks

Old Baptist Lumber To Finish New Church Construction
Plans call for tearing down the old Baptist Church to reuse the timber in finishing the new church. Rev J W Hollis told the congregation the teardown should begin soon after his return. Peter Bish and Cortez Klepper earned degrees Monday at the Odd Fellows hall with a sizable local gathering supporting the degree work by Jal's group.

Denver City Hosts Singing Meet With Guests From Kermit
The Church of God in Denver City hosted a Sunday singing with guest singer C. W. Biggs of Kermit. Attendees from Kermit included Mr. and Mrs. Karl Schneider and W. T. Hair, plus a Hobbs quartet.
