A 36 piece Jal High Band led by R L Meyers departs for a two day invitation tour across Eunice Hobbs Lovington Tumtum Monahans Pecos and Carlsbad area to publicize the waterworks celebration. The party will broadcast from Hobbs and Pecos and seeks extra cars to transport participants and distribute circulars and placards.

Water System Tests Show No Defects
Final tests of the city water system this week found the standpipe and pipe network in perfect condition. City Water Superintendent Brooks Brininstool reported. A new pump is ordered for the new well and should be in operation this weekend, builder Ralph Baird said the water office would be completed this week.

Mrs. T. J. Kelly 25 of Seagraves formerly of Jal died in a hospital after leaping from a speeding car in which she and her husband rode. She regained consciousness briefly and said she jumped to end her life after claiming she had made a mess of her life. Her husband was questioned by police.
