Will dispute over Scarborough estate follows deathbed codicile
In 1938 a deathbed codicile by Scarborough disinherits Hollis Scarborough and his two children from a joint will signed in 1931 that left them one sixth of the estate. Frank Moore says the suit will argue the father had no right to alter the will after probate. Scarborough died June 20 from gunshot wounds inflicted by Hollis at his Kermit ranch. Hollis was at one time indicted for murder but later deemed of unsound mind in a sanity hearing. Local brief notes mention Mrs Floyd Stewart visiting Roswell and Artesia, George Davis traveling to Cisco, and J B Roper visiting family in Plainview.
