Kendrick Promises Action on Shipments and Licenses

A telegram from Senator Kendrick to Wm. Crawford reports government steps to fill Wyoming orders from zone supply at Omaha and wire postmasters with shipment dates. Kendrick cites an investigation and aims for early results. Also noted, state officials remind auto license applicants to act by December 1. Wood famine in Jackson runs high in town

A wood famine grips Jackson as up to three quarters of residents are entirely out or soon will be. Many burn fences and boxes while roads stay muddy hindering hauling until a freeze or snow. Mrs. M W Henrie returns from Long Valley visit.

Elk Move Down as Storm Forces Herds Toward Settlements

A prolonged three week storm has pushed elk from the high country into foothill areas near homesteads. An estimated 200 elk are now feeding closer to settlers, while many remain in the uplands. Observers expect elk to continue moving toward lower grounds for some time.

Grant family in Kansas City Missouri report

Word from Wi Grant says he and family are in Kansas City Missouri where Hilly is taking a course at Sweeney Auto school. He notes high prices and rent, and good water. Fred Lovejoy was called to Pocatello Idaho on business. Mrs Kennedy and son Max left Jackson Hole for Baxter Iowa. Dr Campbell expects to return to Jackson by November ish.

McBrides Buy Ogden Home on Dell Lane

Mer and Mrs Frank McBride purchased a picturesque modern rural residence in Ogden known as the Dell. They plan to take possession soon as the landscape garden lake and fountain estate is prepared. Government engineers retreat from lower valley snow and cold weather after a summer surveying the Far back road, to return next year. Mr and Mrs J R Christian of Moran visited Jackson to treat their three months old baby with rheumatism planning to spend winter in Arkansas.

Mrs Stevenson Visiting Valley From Ontario Ore

Mrs. Wm Stevenson of Q Ontario Ore visits the valley to see friends and tend business, which she and her husband still own there. She reports Billie was seriously injured overseas but is home and okay again. J L Eynon rode Monday’s outbound stage to Sieyenne as the Community club’s representative for Jackson’s Hole at the Good Roads meeting retired by the governor.
