Commencement Exercises Close 2016-17 School Year in Jackson
Last week closed the 2016-17 school year in Jackson under Superintendent E. M. Moody. The eighth grade graduation was held in the Club House with a large audience. The seven graduates included Bessie Lloyd Maud Wilson Orin Wilson Pard Tanner Roy Plym Lyle Honris. Diplomas were presented by D. C. Nowlin after a program led by Moody and Mrs. Richard Mayer. A dance followed in their honor. Several locals were mentioned including Mr. and Mrs. Bures, J. F. Almy, Webster LePlant, Mrs. Infanger and George Gunther, and notes on travel and health updates were included. A lightning death near Driggs was reported affecting local connections.

Jackson citizens plan cleaning of vacant block for children's park
A Jackson meeting at the Club House laid plans to clear the vacant block north of the school, seed it to grass, and establish a children’s park. Ht EB Miller donated the land to the town or school, and work to beautify the area begins May 22 with volunteers from boys and girls, a flagpole, and fund drives for two large saplings.
