Community Club Plans Prizes to Aid War Food Effort
A special meeting of the Community Club at St John’s Club discussed postponing the Krontzer Mail due to the war with Germany. Prizes of 8100 and 3100 were offered for best wheat and oats crops on 20 acres of new land in 1918, with judging by quality and yield. The club also promised 100 lb of canning peas free to the first 20 boys who apply, and 10 to the boy with the best yield to cover committee expenses. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Roy Lamb of South Park on Saturday morning.
