Instructions were sent to land office registers calling attention to a new ruling modifying residence requirements on a homestead contest. Contestants may challenge a filing and establish residence immediately without awaiting the contest outcome. If the contestant wins the contest and files on the land, credit is allowed for each residence. Secretary of the Interior.
Locals describe Hugh McDermott traveling to the lake Monday to repair the dam. Orin Seaton starts moving cattle toward the range. At a Flat Creek social the dogs allegedly distracted by ice cream. Hans Harthorn visited Grevont last Saturday. Bert Clark employs men to build new houses on the old Dick Bailey ranch. Harrie Robteen secured gas proof on his desert claim last Friday. George Reniker came down from Grovont last day. A baby girl was born to Mr and Mrs Henry May last Thursday, welcomed by the May family.
L J Mimmerman, recent arrival from Keith Jackson, prepares to open a meat market in the back room of the new W O building. The move is seen as a welcome addition to Jackson. Dr Hayliff, Sugar City eye specialist, is touring the Basin on his regular two week trip and plans another visit soon.

An elderly man named Win Barnett living alone in a cabin southeast of Hondurant was found dead last Friday. He had visited a neighbor days earlier but returned home complaining of illness. The local Justice of the Peace ruled death from natural causes after arriving at the scene. His son in Calvert, Texas, was notified and instructed to have the body buried near the cabin until removal arrangements could be made.

Forty foot poles set seven feet deep with rock crib four feet high. They are stringing double wire as far as Crandall’s. Valdez Allen from Elk purchased a bay driving team from J. Wort. Allen left Thursday for Kemmerer to attend to business. Wm. Ireton down Wednesday to buy wire for fencing on his Grovont ranch. expects about twenty acres in grain this year.
