Prof R E Park of the University of Georgia spoke Friday night to the Jackson public schools graduates. He urged more and better education for modern times, praised Jackson students, and advocated a new school building. He noted only one in three hundred attend college but college men hold 70 percent of big jobs, stressing education’s moral benefits.

Power Company Pays $10,300 in Back Taxes
Butts county received $1,500 for public schools and about $8,800 went to the county coffers from back taxes owed 1913 to 1915 by the Central Georgia Power Company. The payment ends litigation between Jasper and Butts counties and was made Monday.

Heavy penalties for prohibition violators in Jackson
Mayor J T Moore announced citywide strict penalties for prohibition violations in Jackson.
