The Indian Springs camp meeting runs August 10 to 20 led by Rev. Will Harney of Kentucky and Rev. John Paul of South Carolina. Dr. Harney praised as a rare preacher and Dr. Paul noted as a clear teacher and editor. Charlie Tillman leads singing with an orchestra and chorus. Annie Lou McCord is chorus secretary. An electric light plant, new cottages, and improved grounds mark the event. Butts County Day falls August 16 with plans for a large attendance and active community participation.

Jones County Farmer Fined for Cattle Quarantine Violation
E. L. Hudson of Jones county pleaded guilty in Macon city court to breaking the cattle quarantine act and was fined 35 dollars including costs or two months in jail. He faced two indictments for moving cattle from Jones into Bibb without inspection and for driving tick infested cattle on a public Georgia highway, based on a report by cattle inspector Dr. L. E. Morecock.

The sixth district GOP executive committee met in Griffin and set September 12 as the primary date with plurality rule. A convention is planned for September 20 at the Dempsey Hotel in Macon. August 10 is the filing deadline with a $5 fee. Delegates from all twelve counties attended as J W Wise was unanimously endorsed for re election to Congress.
