Graduating Exercises at Jenkinsburg High School

The Senior Class graduation was held Friday evening May 2 in the school auditorium. Music classes performed, including duets by Walker and Combs and Odelle Moore and Irene Bankston, with solos by Mae Childs Trudie Moore and others. Diplomas were delivered by Prof. Z E Barron and the service closed with benediction by C J Carter.

Gardis Church Opens With Large Attendance

A big crowd filled Gardis Church with Rev Z E Barron of Jenkinsburg officiating. Sunday school reported ninety two pupils and twenty five assents. The evening offering supported the Orphans' Home as Superintendent M A Wilson urged attendance and effort to keep the program lively.

The regular May term of the City Court of Jackson will convene Monday. There will be no jury and only nonjury matters will be tried at this term, with all jury cases moved to the July term.

Mrs. Lula McMichael Dies at 82 in Quiet Illness

Mrs. Lula Fletcher McMichael aged 82, wife of Judge J A McMichael, died this morning after a five week illness. Survived by husband four children two brothers and two sisters. Funeral arrangements await announcement.

Welch Home Destroyed by Sunday Morning Fire

A fire devastated the home and several outbuildings of R. F. Welch near Jackson. Very little was saved from the dwelling and insurance covers only part of the loss. The fire’s origin remains undetermined.
