The David Livingstone centennial will be observed March 30 by Jackson’s Baptist Sunday school with a program including Superintendent remarks, songs such as The Light of the World, prayers, readings, recitations, an unveiling of Livingstone’s portrait, an address by William McClure, and an offering. Members of missionary societies and various readers will participate.

Officers raid Allich Distillery near Indian Spring
Deputy U S Marshals Frank Riley Dave Riley and L Vigil of Macon raided an illicit distillery near Indian Spring after a tip. They found a still and about 500 gallons of beer, but no offenders were present. They destroyed the beer and dismantled the still, returning to headquarters empty handed.

The government has leased the Jackson Post Office building for ten more years from the First National Bank and will enlarge the work room as parcel post increases demand. New boxes with automatic locks will be installed, about fifty boxes added, and the partition extended to the ceiling so the office will be open at all times.
