The Middle Georgia Argus in Jackson is renamed the Jackson Argus with editors John G. McDonald and N. J. Harmon steering. Under D. J. Thaxton the Argus flourished and will continue its community work. Duke and Co announce a January car load of fine mules and horses for cash or on time sales. Visit their stable behind the Dempsey Hotel to see stock before buying elsewhere. They claim 60 head sold this year and pledge fair dealing to honest purchasers. Jackson Georgia January 1894.
Jan 4 1894 De D. J. Tuaxten warns subscribers in affected area that settlements must be made by around the 15th inst to avoid transferring unpaid accounts to another collector. He stresses the need for every cent due and urges prompt action.
Lucun Z. Ray states he has located permanently in Jackson and thanks Butts County residents for past patronage. He pledges prompt, careful attention to future business and signs the note January 2, 1894 with respectful regards.
