Sunday at the churches featured three sermons at the Baptist Church by Pastor Epting and services at the Methodist Church led by Rev J B Randolph. The day was fine with good attendance. Other items note a dormitory purchase for the Agricultural High School in Iuka, appointment of TA Clark as County Attorney, resignation of Mrs F L Robinson from Mineral Springs Hotel, an electric light notice, and a laundry forwarding request to Manhattan Laundry in Chattanooga.
Night policeman Carpenter shot and killed Kennedy in Corinth at 6:30 p m after Kennedy halted and appeared to draw a pistol. Kennedy had mortally wounded a youth named Smith near Selmer and fled south on horseback. Authorities were alerted. Kennedy fired after Smith had shot at him with a shotgun.
