Midsummer Dance Planned at Holy Name Hall

Irvington based Companions of the Forest, a leading women’s group, held a large class initiation on Wednesday. Catholic Club Plans Rye Ri ghtful Schedule and Draw
At Holy Name Hall the Catholic Club outlined plans for a Rye Rightful schedule through the big day with dinner, a baseball game and other sports. The Audubon Society shows interest by placing a sculpture on Irvington Church lawn and by adding a seasonal adjustable picture display in the Library third section to attract bird watchers. Obsequies honor Pvt Philip McGovern a citizen of Irvington with a funeral procession and church service. The American Legion Post arranged the tribute and graves were decorated at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery by Lt Col Gyre Field Judson and Chaplain George Waltmore. Col Frederick Trevor Hut and Chaplain Whitmore spoke of Marine courage and duty. The ceremony commemorates Irvington’s fallen from World War I and reinforces community memory and patriotism.
