A preview inspection of the new Phelps Memorial Hospital in North Errytown is planned for Wednesday January 4 after a luncheon in the hospital dining room. Guests include Jester J Balassi, hospital association president. The formal opening will be Saturday January 7 with belt ceremonies at the balling at 22 At. Public inspection hours are January 7 1 to PAL and January f 10 AM to 8 PAL. First patients arrive Monday January 10 transferring from Farrytown and Ossining hospitals whose services are replaced by Phelps Memorial.

Four babies were born in the Dobbs Ferry Hospital during Christmas week. Ferguson Allen, son of Robert and Clair Allen of 35 South Broadway, arrived December 20. Irvington Public Schools begin a new era with the reopening on Tuesday January 3 as the Dows Lane elementary building nears completion.
