Minutes from two special Board of Education meetings of Union Free School District No. 2 Greenburgh authorize awarding IMS-199 transportation contract to Seapay Bros. for 880 and second contract for an additional project. authorize issuance of twelve thousand dollars notes and issue fifty five thousand to secure a reform of the district. The notes are to be purchased by Tevington Bank and Trust Company at par with interest, call option stated, dated August 16, 1918, signed by cashiers David T. Condon.

Franke Kommensas of Bayside Long Island pleaded guilty to speeding a truck on Broadway at the rate of 60 miles an hour and was fined 20 dollars by Judge James J Leyden in the Irvington Police Court. Vincent Tetrudo of Yonkers and Howard LaDrew of New York were fined 3 dollars for driving without a license. LaDrew appeared on the no license charge after a Sunday collision when his motorcycle hit a car driven by Mrs. Virginia Judson of Hastings. Five speeding cases on Saw Mill River Boulevard were adjourned.
Tax bills totaling 14 800 are prepared for Greenburg town schools to fund seven districts. William A Buckley, receiver of taxes, will mail bills by August 31 with September payments having no penalty, rising penalties through May, and a May 25 1948 sale for unpaid taxes. The district’s budget tallies income and expenditures including administration, instructional, and maintenance costs. Jean Crichton, daughter of Veaad Mra Alfred Ceici, will marry Edward Jenkinson, son of Mrs Esther Jenkins and the late Tee Jenkinson, at 4 o clock Saturday at Tevineton Pecahygerian Church. Several crashes on Broadway kept Treington village police busy over the weekend. One driver, Howard LaDrew of Brom, faced a license charge after his motorcycle struck a car driven by Mrs. Virginix Judson of Hastings as she turned onto Hudson Road. Both northbound vehicles were at about 43:00 on Sunday. witnesses say Judson signaled a left turn, but LaDrew ignored it and collided. LaDrew was treated at Dobbs Ferry Hospital for multiple injuries and later cited for operating with a learner’s permit. Small damage to both vehicles. Another incident saw a parked car owned by John Robertine of Irvington roll into a fence near North Astor Street after suspected brake failure. no injuries or additional damage reported. A third collision involved Rev. James J. O’Dwyer and John A. Wholley near Reid Hill, with minor damage and no injuries.

Ataeun Jr. of souls Washington Street, Tarry fn, wife of Tevinuson's village congineer, is recovering at 3. howe 'ital in Ithaes from serious injuriee she sufered in am autostatic acci ent near there last Wednesday. Mrs. Martin was reported to have sustained a double fracture of one leg besides nnuerous cure and bruises. Her three children who were with her in the car at time of the accident were also injured. Mrs. Martin will be confined in the hospital for several weeks. Mr. Martin flew to Ithaca on Wednesday evening upon learning for the accident and after a trip back to Tarrytown retrned to Thaes to be with his wife and dude. Mrs. Martin had been sitting at her father's home in Horseheads, N.Y. and had gone to Ithaca on 48 shopping up. Mrs. W. TE, DeLoner another young dsagster of Wielits, Kamins, Wwe Vissing at the home of her Larente on North Dutcher Street, Mrs DeLosier is the former Miss Domenist Palermo and arrived by plane to see her mother who is all at the Medical Center in New York City.
County health officials warned residents after multiple pets including cats and dogs died in Irving Chit area. Victims Mrs Caroline Rater and Miss Esther Rotter reported losses from poison placed on rat food. Authorities advised use of squill poison as an effective vermin control, noting dogs are immune to it.
A damaged lamp at the main Town Hall on Main Street was removed and reset by Walter C. McBride and the highway department after the base showed a raised stone foundation and corroded wiring. Officials reported the reporting lamp post was lowered into the trench body using a trick to avoid lifting.
No funeral date has been announced for John Joseph Gilchrist son of Mr and Mrs John Gilchrist of Groton Pee. Telegram from the War Department indicates he was killed in action at St Lo France on August 5 following North African Sicilian and Italian campaigns. Body will not be sent to Edwards General Hospital in Dobbs Ferry.
State Examiners audit of village fiscal records nears completion after ten days of examination. The audit, a routine annual review, will be followed by a conference with Mayor Duncan G. Smith and village officials.
Building inspector Gustave Deen approved two preliminary apartment projects for the Trents. One site at Richmond Hill on Broadway and Harriman Road will rise four to six stories with 288 rooms for 76 families, possibly elevator access, costing around 500000 though some estimates reach 1 million. The second site between South Coronet and South Dutcher Streets will be four stories with 187 rooms and 32 families, also slated as elevator apartments with garages. Both plans are in early stages with no definite start or occupancy dates and rely on the old code under existing village zoning.
Connicks return from a Kansas trip to visit their son Richard and his wife in Kansas City. They were joined by family and friends at a bachelor dinner hosted by Richard and Mrs Connick on Main Street before their motor tour. Richard is engaged to Miss Margaret Taxter with a wedding planned later this year.
