Local Pulitzer History Prize winner writes on schoolboys Caribbean visit
Sumner Chilton Powell, Pulitzer History winner and editor of Venture To The Windward Isles, presents a new booklet of essays and photos. The work follows a 1960s goodwill voyage by U S schoolboys to the Windward Islands aboard a 70 foot ketch, with students speaking in prose and poetry. Prof Frank Freidel and Prof Samuel Morison praise the project, and profits fund further lectures and cruises planned for 1969.
