The young Iowa girl Gertrude May Cartano died from peritonitis after a three week illness. Funeral was held at the M.E. church with Rev. J. Arthur Edwards delivering the sermon. She was interred at Frezon cemetery and mourned by classmates, church members, and friends. born July 7 1890 in Sutherland Iowa, she lived in Iraton since age seven.
