County GOP Set June 26 Convention In Alton
Chairman J A Ogg issued a call for the Republican county convention to meet in Alton on June 26. Nomination of officials including representative county attorney clerk recorder treasurer sheriff superintendent of schools coroner and surveyor will occur. A supervisor from each of five districts will be chosen after the main convention.

A letter from Arthur Dayton, written from Sebastopol May 12, reports San Francisco in terrible condition with 300000 homeless and famine fears. Santa Rosa and Berkeley areas show widespread ruin with dozens dead, and the quake has altered ground with long cracks and land rises, while some islands have risen off Dillona Beach.
