Special correspondent reports Christine Petersen conducted oral reading tests for fourth to sixth graders at Craig school with guests from nearby schools. A large crowd attended last Wednesday’s Craig dance. Lena Noahr visited LeMars Thursday. Walter Baack moved Phillips gas station to the former pool hall, to be called Walt's Place, with George Oller taking over the vacated gas station. D W Elliott attended a bankers convention in Sioux City, while V S Morey saw Kiss The Boys Goodbye in Sioux City Friday. Mrs Wm Clark visited Omaha and attended the Golden Spike celebration. Hollis Noble left for Whiting Iowa after her grandfather Mr Cochran's death. Shirley and Darrel Noble visited their grandmother Mrs Orpha Noble. Henry Croon and family from Forest Grove Oregon arrived Friday to visit his mother and handle business, while Mrs Henry Croon Sr remains ill. Miss Hilka Croon of Salem SD visited at Mrs Croon Sr's home on Sunday. Mrs Orpha Noble received word.

School hires and medical updates in Craig district

Last week the granddaughter Joan Norvis of Clear Lake D. underwent surgery for acute appendicitis and is recovering well. Bilert Ludwigs remains bedridden with inflammatory rheumatism. The Craig independent district re hired Grace Vogelsang for the primary room while Farline Parrott, longtime teacher, did not apply this year. Tieden of Hawarden was hired for the upper room.
