Three accidents of different natures occurred in Grant township during the past week. Rev. Theodore Meyer and Mrs. Garreth Renken Jr. were uninjured, while Mrs. Herman Frerichs suffered multiple injuries. Two miles west and north of Brunsville, cars were badly damaged in the collision. A ladder mishap on a Grant farm injured John Popken’s shoulder, and a mule hoof trim left Martin Croon with a stitched ear.
Westfield special correspondent reports John Beaubien visiting the Elmer Kapfer home near Ruble. Mrs. Fred Hummel hosted a pleasant Sunday shower in her residence for her sister Mrs. Raymond Allen with friends and relatives in attendance.

Dan Connolly returns from Iowa City with a scholarship certificate in American government and history, ranking first in the Iowa every pupil test at Westfield High School. he will be a senior next year. Supt. McLaughlin urges him to take the tests.
