Big violin and piano solo with Marian Buss and de bate. A shadow play Gone with the Wind by Rev Batho Wayne Detloff and Edgar Lancaster. The audience chose the winner Art and Bill Berkenpas for the two layer chocolate cake prize. Volunteers served pic a la mode to the audience.
A week of visits from Aurora residents in Stanton and Le Mars precedes an eighth grade diploma ceremony in Le Mars High School. Local graduates named include Velma Burnett Jean Williams Helen Petersen Rex Knapp Ilene Montague Henry Anderson Louis Mook and Darlene Tingley among others with parents and community members in attendance.
The Perry Pals 4-H girls club met June 4 at Elizabeth Beau lieu’s home with many members present. Plans for a program and ice cream social were discussed. A soil erosion tour to Denison and other community visits were noted, and the group raised a little over 15.00 from a program at the Perry Center schoolhouse, funds to be used for a local purpose.
Fredonia residents and friends from Sheldon Valley Springs LeMars and Orange City visit various homes Tuesday and Wednesday. Eighth grade graduation at LeMars High School draws many locals. Grandparents, siblings and neighbors share meals and attend birthdays and commencements in the area.

Leonard Eppling and son Marvin return from Rochester Minn after Marvin's operation. Roland Wilson and family move to Anderson farm west of Kingsley for employment. Bob Grier visits Harry Custer near Moville. George Fletcher visits Albert Fletcher home.
Maurice and Mrs Harry F Stief hosted Hawarden callers last Monday Mervin Dugger returned from Des Moines after a year at Drake University He left Sunday to work in a Des Moines drug store this summer Mrs P M Eberly and baby head to Nevada Iowa to join Mr Eberly who will work for a Des Moines newspaper Madeline Lewis of Struble visited Wednesday with Dorothy Jean Stief Mr and Mrs M Soost and daughter Florence and Mr and Mrs Nor were mentioned in the local social rundown.
Ireton high school seniors were hosted by Mr and Mrs Hal van Water and Mr and Mrs Asa Gray on Wednesday. The evening featured music games and a birthday luncheon as Keith Gray prepares to move to Miami Florida to join his father. Ruth Vanderham Helen Houston and Nadine Vanderham had tonsil operations last week. John Linnan Nora Buckley and Margaret McDonald visited from Maurice Friday. Edward Levins Melvin Steffins left for Alamosa and Denver after visiting relatives. Ben Magnes of Lorenzo was a business caller. Mrs G L Houston returned from Hurley South Dakota. Eva White a former instructor visited friends. Virginia Hazel Bartlett of Sioux Falls visiting relatives. Twin babies born to Herman Beerman and wife June 13. boy 6 lbs girl 9 lbs. At Sacred Heart hospital LeMars twins born to County Attorney Henry Te Paske and wife. boy and girl. Earlene Parrott Lois Houston left for Gentry Arkansas to visit aunt Belle Parrott en route to Texas expo and other points for about a month. Funeral services for Andrew Kool 38 who died in Hudson hospital were held at the Christian Reformed church. He farmed near Alcester and is survived by his wife Dreeka Van der Hoef, four children, parents from Alton, two brothers and two sisters. Interment at Pleasant Hill with Rev C Chipper.
